Who Participates in an InnerPeace Bootcamp?

People from all walks of life participate in the InnerPeace Bootcamp.  But they all have something in common:

  They feel there is more to life than they currently experience.

But even more so, they consider life as an opportunity.  Many have attended multiple seminars and workshops, many have read lots of self-development books or followed a self-help ‘guru’, many have tried yoga, meditation and other such modalities, and many have realized these have little affect on them in their thinking or daily lives.

 People who attend the InnerPeace Bootcamp not only want more, they want something that works.

Do you suffer from any of the following?

Black and white thinking

“Nothing ever works out for me.”

Includes words like always, never, nothing, everything.

You view everything as right/wrong, good/bad… there don’t appear to be any grey areas. 

Mind reading

“Everybody thinks I am boring.”

You assume other people’s thoughts, feelings, behaviours.

Fortune telling

“It’s not going to work; it’s not worth even trying.”

You constantly predict negative outcomes comes from fear, not fact.

Overgeneralizing

“This relationship won’t work. I’m going to be single for the rest of my life.”

You predict a negative future outcome based a past experience.

Minimizing

“I finished my report on time, but anyone can do that.”

You discount the positive or undervaluing the accomplishment.

Unrealistic expectations

“I made a mistake on my job, therefore I don’t deserve this job.”

This is the opposite to minimizing.  You exaggerate the importance  of one negative event and letting it overshadow the good.

Should statements

“I should have ______________ by now.”

You focus on should, ought, must, if only statements.

Personalising

“He didn’t want to go out tonight.  I must have done/said something.”

You take responsibility for something that is not your fault and assume others actions/moods are related to you

Catastrophishizing

“I’m not going to have enough money to buy her dinner and she will never want to see me again.”

You overestimate the chances of disaster, focusing only on potential negative outcomes.  This is the belief that something unbearable is about to happen.
